An earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale shook Saudi Arabia’s south western Asir region on Wednesday just before 3 p.m. local time.

The earthquake had a depth of 2.5km and occurred 10km south of Khamis Mushait at  2:56 p.m., the Saudi Geological Survey tweeted. 

No damage was recorded.
