3M, the global technology company delivering innovative solutions to life's everyday puzzles, is exhibiting its market leading safety technology at this year’s American Society of Safety Engineers – Middle East Chapter’s (ASSE-MEC) – Exhibition and Conference.
 
Among the products and solutions that 3M exhibited at the most comprehensive forum on issues within the safety, health and environmental (SH&E) segments of the region’s industries including oil, gas and petrochemical, is the 3M™ Novec™ 1230 Fire Protection Fluid.
 
The 3M™ Novec™ 1230 Fire Protection Fluid is a halon alternative which has less negative environmental impacts than other fire fluids and has a number of safety advantages; including electrically non-conductive and non-corrosive properties, it rapidly vaporizes to gas during discharge, does not damage electronics, electronic media or delicate mechanical devices and can be safely used on energized equipment.
 
These safety attributes mean the Fire Protection Fluid is a viable option for use in data processing and control rooms, in archives and museums and the marine, the oil and gas and telecommunications industries and is a long-term solution for protecting high value assets or equipment.
 
3M’s other notable products being displayed at ASSE-MEC are the range of firestop systems and products which can help to stop the spread of fire, smoke and toxic gas. In addition, 3M is exhibiting its range of Occupational Health and Environmental Safety solutions and products, which include personal safety items, respiratory protection and spill management solutions.
