ALBAWABA - Following a procession service held in the holy Shiite city of Karbala in Iraq, Iranian Revolutionary Guard officials, along with thousands, will be holding a final funeral service for IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoushan, who was killed in Beirut.

The Guard Corps said on Friday that Nilforoushan's body had been recovered from the site of the Israeli strike that targeted a residential block in Beirut's southern suburbs. The strike also killed Hezbollah's former Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah.

Following weeks of speculations surrounding his fate, IRGC's Quds Force brigadier general Esmail Qaani was pictured attending the services, refuting the rumors that he was killed in Lebanon.

Nilforoushan's body was first carried from Beirut to Baghdad International Airport and moved in an emergency vehicle to the Shiite holy city of Karbala, where a funeral procession was held.
