Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank signs MoU with Abu Dhabi Men's College

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, one of the leading Islamic banks in the region, signed a memorandum of understanding with Abu Dhabi Men's College, to launch two academic certificates for diploma and bachelor's degrees in banking services.
Students of Abu Dhabi Men's College will be able to specialize in banking services and obtain a diploma or bachelor's degree. They will be able to take advantage of various initiatives offered at Abu Dhabi Men's College such as specialized lectures and training programs in the financial services and banking industry. They will also benefit from scholarships and continued support of their education, field trips to Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank projects and training sites, and will be able to build skills required in the workplace.
The MoU is intended to promote and develop the efficiency of UAE nationals working in the banking sector. It was signed by Dr Simon Jones, Director of Abu Dhabi Men's College and representatives from ADIB in the presence of officials from both sides.
Dr Simon Jones said: "The College is keen to develop the efficiency of Emirati workforce and to establish professional partnerships with leading business institutions such as Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. This MoU is very important to us as it provides students with active programs to help them achieve professional success, and support them in establishing their own future business."
The agreement between ADIB and Abu Dhabi Men's College is a cornerstone in developing the human resources in ADIB, and support the bank with qualified Abu Dhabi Men's College students.
The MoU will support programs at Abu Dhabi Men's College and contribute to the curricula development for students in banking sector. It will also help develop best practice to monitor and improve education levels and assess student performance.
ADIB invests in its employees and builds their leadership and management competence in various ways. One of them is its Management Associates training to staff where it aims to develop the best available talent to and train future leaders. In addition, ADIB is an industry leader in Emiratisation initiatives, increasing its Emiratisation rate to 40% in 2009 compared to 31.5% in 2008. Its total number of Emirati bank staff is 570. The bank has been recognized for its continued commitment to Emiratization by the Emirates Institute of Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS) and was presented with their Human Resource Development Award in the first category for 2009.
