Sports apparel giant adidas has announced the winner of its federation kits competition star prize – a five day trip for two to South Africa to watch the World Cup™ final match. The prize is the culmination of 5 weeks of competition from across the Middle East which received over 5,000 entries; Saeid Zadsarfomany from Iran was announced as the final winner.

Saeid received his trip package tickets at the adidas store in Dubai Festival City, Dubai.  Commenting on his win and the chance to watch the final match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ he said, “I’m so delighted to be watching the World Cup Finals live from the stadium for the first time in my life. Thanks to adidas who gave me this opportunity to watch the best two national football teams in the world competing to win the 2010 FIFA World Cup title.”

adidas provides federation kits for the world’s top football teams who have participated in the current 2010 FIFA World Cup, which have also been available for purchase for all football enthusiasts in the region. The kits for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ display the official attire of European teams –  Germany, France and Spain, which is playing against the Netherlands in the finals – in addition to Argentina and Mexico from Latin America and the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ hosts, South Africa.

“We are delighted to be able to give Saeid Zadsarfomany, a true football fan, the opportunity to travel to South Africa and witness the final match in the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. At adidas, we are proud to be able to give football fans from around the world the chance to be a part of their teams’ successes. The adidas Football Federation Kits allow fans to feel the same pride the players do when they put on the jerseys. The competition was a way of taking this further and we are very happy that it has been so successful,” said Darryl Peacock, Head of Retail at adidas Emerging Markets.

Each adidas Football Federation Kit of the teams tells a story, woven into the design details of the jersey. In addition, the kits are all equipped with adidas’ signature CLIMACOOL® technology which keeps heat and sweat off the player’s skin, for breathable comfort that lasts as long as the match.

Several other football teams participating in the 2010 FIFA World Cup have also represented their countries while wearing the 3-stripes. These teams include Greece, the 2004 UEFA Euro champion; Japan, three-time Asian Cup winners; Paraguay who claimed COPA America twice and Nigeria, the two-time African Nations Cup winners. Both Denmark and Slovakia are also equipped with adidas kits.

The new official Football Federation Kits are available at adidas Sports Performances stores across the region.
