Under the patronage of Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, the President of The Arab Gulf Programme for United Nations Development Organizations (AGFUND), a ceremony to award prizes for pioneering development projects will be held in Tunis on Wednesday.
According to <i>SPA</i>, representatives of the development organizations and the organizations of the civil society as well as ambassadors and pressmen will participate in the ceremony. It should be noted that the AGFUND's prize committee has selected three development projects among 83 projects nominated for the prize from 32 countries.
AGFUND is a regional developmental institution, established in 1980 upon the initiative of Prince Talal, and with the support of the Leaders of the Arab Gulf States that constitute its membership and contribute to its budget. AGFUND is concerned with the support of sustainable human development efforts, targeting the neediest groups in the developing countries, particularly women and children, in cooperation with the organizations and institutions active in this field.
