Ahmadinejad: Iran to cut ”aggressive” hands

Iranians would cut off any "aggressive" hands stretched towards the country, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday, according to IRNA.

Addressing enemies of Iran, the Iranian leader said, "Although you have succeeded in the past in taking over part of the Iranian soil and then were forced by the Iranian nation to give it back, now Iranians will cut off any hands stretched towards the country before they (enemies) find any time to put their plan in action."

Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman on Tuesday condemned the EU financial restrictions against Tehran. Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said that the "illegal, double-standard and contradictory approach" during the time the packages of proposals are being studied is meaningless and is strongly denounced.

He added "Adopting the stick and carrot policy towards the legal rights and national will of the great nation of Iran is futile and will have no effect on materialization of the indispensable rights of the nation."

Hosseini said that "this kind of behavior will make the Iranian nation and government more determined in obtaining their rights." He added that such moves will waste European opportunities and would not lead to an appropriate atmosphere for diplomacy to go ahead.
