Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that enemies "cannot do a damned thing" over the country's nuclear program. According to IRNA, the Iranian leader made the comments in his address to a large crowd in the city of Shahr-e Kord in Chahar Mahal-e Bakhtiari province where he arrived along with his cabinet ministers.
Ahmadinejad also stressed that "Iranians remained united and hand in hand with the leadership of the Islamic Republic," regarding its nuclear issue.
His remarks came as US President George W. Bush was expected to pressure Chancellor Angela Merkel to cut Germany's business ties with Iran in talks Wednesday. Bush put the Iran nuclear dispute at the heart of his farewell European tour, aides said, according to AFP.
Bush, arriving from a US-EU summit in Slovenia, dined with Merkel on Tuesday and held a working breakfast Wednesday before a formal meeting, a press conference and a lunch at a palace near Berlin.
