Air Arabia increases flights to Mumbai

Air Arabia LLC, the first low-fares airline in the Middle East and North Africa, in response to increasing customer demands for summer travel, announced that effective June 20, 2006 it will increase its frequency between Sharjah and Mumbai by an additional six flights per week. The total number of flights to Mumbai will go up to 13 flights a week.

The additional flight will operate every day of the week except Monday and will depart from Sharjah at 0010 hours local time, arriving in Mumbai at 04:40 hours Indian Standard Time. The regular flights to Mumbai continue as normal with a daily departure of 1630 hours UAE time from Sharjah and a 2145 hours departure from Mumbai Indian time. The early arrival in Mumbai provides good connections to all domestic points in India.

The additional flights will be in operation from June 20, 2006 until July 16, 2006 and the starting fare for these flights is AED 500/- one-way, exclusive of taxes and surcharges.

Speaking on the increased frequency to Mumbai, Mr. Adel Ali, CEO of Air Arabia stated, “The demand for seats to Mumbai has been overwhelming and in order to cope with this demand we have decided to operate an additional flight to the destination. The additional flight shall be catering to the large number of families going back to India for the  for the summer holidays.”

He added: “The new flight has been included with no change to our existing schedule ensuring that none of our customers on other routes are inconvenienced, we shall also soon be  increasing our flight frequency to other key markets where we have had a similar response and need to cater to the summer rush. ”

Current Air Arabia destinations include Aleppo and Damascus (Syria); Alexandria, Assiut, Luxor and Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt); Amman (Jordan); Astana and Almaty (Kazakhstan); Bahrain; Beirut (Lebanon); Colombo (Sri Lanka); Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh (KSA), Doha (Qatar); Istanbul (Turkey); Kabul (Afghanistan); Khartoum (Sudan); Kuwait; Mumbai , Nagpur, Jaipur and Kochi (India); Muscat (Oman); Sana’a (Yemen); Sharjah (UAE) and Tehran (Iran). In May we have also started flights to Kabul (Afghanistan), Jaipur and Kochi (India) and to Europe with Istanbul (Turkey).
