ALBAWABA - In a move that caused a wide stir and buzzed social media, a clip circulated showing a woman jumping out of an Uber car in São Paulo city in Brazil.
The footage went viral, took place in June 2025, but resurfaced again online. It depicts a woman throwing herself out of a moving Uber car to avoid paying the fare in Itapetininga, west of São Paulo.
According to media outlets, the driver said the female passenger refused to pay the R$ 10.40 ($2.11) fare and jumped out of the vehicle while they were heading to the police station.
Sources further noted that the lady told the driver before jumping, "It's already paid."
A CCTV footage showed the back door was wide open as the Uber travelled down the road, when a woman got off.
The passenger tumbled onto the tarmac, rolled over, and skidded to a stop moments later.
The driver told Brazilian police that the ride had been requested with cash as the selected payment method, but the woman, who used a different name, said she did not have the cash, then driver told her they would have to go to the police to solve the issue.
