Following a promotional rate of just AED 299 per room per night – a move aimed at relieving stressed residents of the UAE from the onslaught of heat and humidity during the summer months - Le Meridien Al Aqah has today announced an average occupancy rate of 82% over the entire season.

The award-winning resort, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Hajar mountain range, is owned by the Emirates group and has fast established itself as the definitive East Coast destination. The promotional summer offer, which commenced on June 1st and will run until September 15th 2006, has seen a marked increase on last year’s occupancy rates for the same period.

“Our resort combines Fujairah’s sun, sea and sand with outstanding facilities and is therefore the ultimate playground for those who love the outdoors, whether one is here to relax or participate in an action-packed physical activity,” said Patrick Antaki, general manager, Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort.

“This summer has witnessed an unprecedented rate of occupancy thanks to our enhanced relationship with regional tour operators and an impressive effort from our communications specialists at getting our message across. Our in-house staff have also done a superb job and have therefore ensured that we have had several groups of guests returning again and again,” Antaki added.

“These results are also important as they provide us with concrete evidence that Fujairah – and the UAE in general – really has become a year-round destination.”
