Al Manzil hotel receives civil defence award
Al Manzil Hotel was the proud recipient of an award from Dubai Civil Defence at a ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dubai on July 2nd. The award was in recognition of Al Manzil Hotel’s participation in a comprehensive training and fire-drill exercise, conducted on June 17th. The exercise included the participation of Dubai Civil Defence, Police and ambulance services.
The only hotel in Dubai to conduct such a comprehensive fire-drill and training exercise, Al Manzil’s emergency preparation activity was conducted as a real-life simulation that also included human casualty scenarios. The training was executed according to a strictly defined protocol that included emergency centre notifications to Civil Defence (997), Ambulance services (998) and Police services (999) as well as employee evacuation and staff-assisted rescue operations..
Accepting the award, Al Manzil Hotel’s Chief Engineer, Sakher Alkarmi, said: “I would like to thank Dubai Civil Defence and the Police and Ambulance services for their cooperation and dedicated efforts which helped to secure the safety of the public through this live simulation. Our participation in this exercise is due to our strong belief in the importance of raising civil awareness among the public as well as among institutions. We see such contributions as our duty and responsibility. I would like to make particular mention of Sergeant Mohammad Saleh from Jumeirah station for his cooperation in leading the drill as well as John De Canha, Complex Operations Director of Southern Sun, for his involvement and valuable participation.”
