ALBAWABA - Aleppo city in northern Syria has witnessed fierce clashes between the Syrian government forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which left four dead and 11 civilians injured.

Both sides are exchanging accusations regarding responsibility for the start of the fighting, amidst stalled negotiations that have been ongoing for months.

The Syrian Civil Aviation Authority announced the suspension of flights to and from Aleppo International Airport for 24 hours due to the tension. In addition, the governor of the Syrian city suspended work on Wednesday in all government offices, schools, and universities, and canceled all public and social events.

The governor said that the decision to suspend work was made in light of the current situation and the SDF's shelling of several hospitals and other institutions.

The Syrian official news agency SANA reported that the death toll from the SDF shelling of residential buildings in the al-Midan neighborhood of Aleppo on Tuesday had risen to four civilians, including two women.
