Several regions of Algeria have been experiencing snow fall. The region of Sidi Bel Abbès is covered in snow. The bad weather conditions have been causing blocked roads. For example, the city of Tiaret (340km west of the capital Algiers) more or less completely shut down.
Elsewhere, the sub zero temperatures have deprived settlements of supplies of electricity and gas. The capital and commercial center, Algiers, in contrast has been experiencing storms and even hail but has escaped from the worst of the weather.
