Algeria's Former Prime Minister Sid Ahmed Ghozali said Monday that he would stand for the next presidential election. In a press conference conducted at his headquarters, Ghozali said that he will run for the election "until the end," adding that his decision was taken "to win the Algerians' confidence and sign a political, social and moral pact with them to achieve national revival" and "get the country back on track."

Sid Ahmed Ghozali, who declared he understood "perfectly the fear of some, the others' scepticism and the resignation of many" regarding the next election, added that "today's resignation shall lead to tomorrow's abstention (…) giving way to drifts inside and outside power." "The most unbearable defeat is the one we haven't fought," he said.
