ALHOSN University, a leading Abu Dhabi-based university dedicated to high-quality, value-based education, recently participated in the 9th Specialized Exhibition of Universities Institutes & Universities Equipments (EDU.9 – 2010) that was held from March 9 to 11, 2010 at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus and from March 13 to 15, 2010 at the Sheraton Hotel in Aleppo to discuss its leading academic programs with more than 16,000 Syrian students.
Held under the patronage of Syrian Minister of Higher Education H.E. Dr. Ghiath Barakat and organized by Al Haitham Exhibitions and Conferences in coordination with the Ministry of Education, the event is regarded as the largest gathering of public and private educational institutions from Syria and other Arab and foreign countries. Over 40 universities from countries including the UAE, Jordan, Egypt, Malaysia, France, Canada, North Cyprus and China discussed their respective programs and policies, special activities and services. Aside from exposure to various international schools, participants were also invited to view the products and services of about 50 exhibitors.
ALHOSN representatives met with students from the top schools in Damascus, Aleppo, and surrounding provinces to explain to them the importance of higher education. Benefits of being a part of ALHOSN’s unique programs also were highlighted to the students.
“Since the opening of ALHOSN University five years ago, we have been emphasizing that our programs welcome students of all nationalities. EDU.9 – 2010 provided us the opportunity to explain the competitive edge that will be gained by Syrian students joining ALHOSN. During our stay, we showed our admiration to Syrian efforts that provide its youth with various educational options. We have also gained valuable knowledge by interacting with our international peers and sharing our views on how to further improve the quality of education in our respective countries,” said Nadine Kanj, Marketing and PR Manager, ALHOSN University.
The Syrian visit extended ALHOSN University’s participation in a series of promotional tours as part of its 5th year anniversary celebrations in 2010. Since its inception in 2005, the University has been delivering its 11 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs under the Faculties of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences to students of all nationalities. ALHOSN adheres to a unique motto of ‘Global Knowledge with Local Vision.’
