Only hours before UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan is to hold talks Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos and Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash, he noted that his peace proposal for a comprehensive settlement in Cyprus is on the table and is the basis for negotiations, the CNA reported.
Speaking to the press after briefing the Security Council on his moves with regard to Cyprus, Annan stated that the UN would accept any changes the two sides bring about to his plan with mutual consent.
