ArabSat Satellite Company is seeking to broaden its shareholder base to upgrade its services and reach more countries, reported HiTech magazine.

The magazine quoted one of the managers as saying that company recommended selling part of its shares to private investors.

Television stations from Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Libya and the UAE broadcast to all the Middle East countries and part of Europe via ArabSat's three satellites.

The company is jointly owned by several Arab countries. Saudi Arabia has the largest share.

At present, LBCI and Future are the only Lebanese TV stations using ArabSat to air programs to the Middle East and Europe, said the magazine - Albawaba.com
