Syrian president Bashar al-Assad on Monday said Israel is a "terrorist" entity. Speaking during the Arab economic summit held in Kuwait, he said: "Political and moral support for Gaza is no less important than what came before… support through affirming Gaza's right to defend itself by all means and the firm right of its resistance to react against the aggression… what this entails is the necessity of our frank and unequivocal support for the Palestinian resistance and refusal of everything that questions its patriotism and legality or weakens it. In response to having the resistance branded as terrorism by whomever, I suggest that this summit officially adopt the description of the Zionist entity as the terrorist entity, especially in light of the latest aggression."
"When someone intends to commit or commit a terrorist act, we don't hesitate to accuse them of terrorism, then what about an entity that has been carrying out terrorism for decades repeatedly, an entity whose leaders are only elected from among the terrorists," al-Assad added.
The Syrian leader added the ceasefire declared in Gaza Strip doesn't mean that the aggression is over. "Although this talk comes after the declaration of a ceasefire, this doesn't mean that the aggression is over….and subsequently there is no justification or motive for us to be reassured… the invading forces are still in Gaza and the siege is still imposed on it, clamping down on Gaza and gnawing the flesh of its children… the hostile intentions of the Israelis and their hatred for Arabs has not and will not change," he conveyed.
