Batelco Bahraini Staff to Train their Peers

Behavioural Training will Increase Batelco’s Competitive Edge

Batelco, the Kingdom’s leading communications’ company, continues to invest in training programmes that aim to increase its competitive edge. As part of this commitment, a group of Batelco staff, all Bahraini, recently attended a ‘Train the Trainer’ course in Cyprus. The course was conducted by a leading company specialised in Training & Development programmes.

The course follows on from a recent series of 2-day workshops, run by the Cypriot Training & Development specialists, which all Batelco’s management and supervisors attended. The workshops, under the umbrella theme of “Danat Batelco”, aimed to instil specific skills and behaviours associated with Batelco’s Vision, Mission and Values.

“We want everyone in Batelco to have consistent behaviours associated with the Company’s values.  Our managers and supervisors have already been through workshops run by an external consultant, it is now important we transfer the knowledge and skills in-house, via our newly trained staff,” said Batelco Group Human Resources General Manager Shaikh Ahmed Al Khalifa.

“We are very proud that the group of trainers are all Bahraini’s who were selected from a number of internal applicants for the roles,” added Shaikh Ahmed.

During the week long course, the group of Bahraini staff received practical advice on how to deliver training courses and workshops as well getting an in-depth understanding of the unique behaviours associated with Batelco’s Vision, Mission and Values.

“We have made our six volunteers personal trainers for the rest of our staff, so they can help them prepare for the future, and reduce our reliance on external help,” continued Shaikh Ahmed.

“The behaviour training initiative will put our newly qualified trainers at the heart of the drive to close behavioural gaps, and boost productivity.  These trainers will ensure that they deliver top quality workshops to the remaining Batelco staff, in an innovative, targeted and flexible way.”

“Batelco’s investment in Danat Batelco underlines its firm commitment to address consistent company behaviours.  Danat Batelco is one of the most important initiatives in the company today, putting the strategic needs of the company into the hearts of our employees,” concluded Shaikh Ahmed.
