Leading internet, communications and IT solutions company Batelco Jordan, a subsidiary of Batelco Bahrain has announced major reductions to its Broadband individual and corporate subscriptions.
A special press conference was held July 3rd to announce the new price packages that were attended by Mr. Ihab Hinnawi, Batelco Jordan CEO and Mr. Issa Abdel Rahman, Marketing Manager and an audience of Jordanian media representatives.
The move to offer reduced prices on broadband subscriptions comes within Batelco Jordan's role in supporting national efforts to increase internet penetration especially that the cost for individual subscriptions has proved to be a major obstacle in increasing this service penetration in the Kingdom.
The company takes pride in its pioneering effort that reduces the monthly subscription packages to as little as JD10 especially with the new value-added services that Batelco offered for the first time in Jordan, including anti virus, blocking undesired websites and personal firewalls plus protection against personal theft.
"Batelco Jordan has always sought to actively work hand in hand to help the national efforts seeking to increase Broadband lines penetration especially with the government's policy to liberate the telecom and internet market and open it for more competition," Mr. Hinnawi told the media.
He however criticized Jordan Telecom's limited support for the sector and keeping ISP services cost very high which in turn prevents ISPs from offering citizens internet services at lesser prices. He added that the company was looking to find alternative ways and means to offer its services without depending on Jordan Telecom.
