A mystery blast inside a deserted Palestinian Authority building killed one person and injured another in Ramallah Monday, Palestinian security officials told AFP.
The explosion occurred as a worker was apparently handling a large gas cylinder in the empty ministry of local affairs, severely damaging the building, which has already been hit by Israeli missiles.
An investigation was opened into the "mystery blast,” one source said.
Israeli military sources confirmed the incident and said the army, which has a checkpoint nearby, was not involved.
But the army was responsible for the killing of two Palestinian children in Hebron on the day, one of them is four years old and the other was 11.
They were killed as Israel US-made apaches fired missiles at a car of an Islamic Jihad activist, who was hur badly. Five people were injured in the assassination attempt.
Also in Hebron, the Palestinian official news agency (WAFA) reported that Jewish settlers attacked earlier in the day two schoolgirls while on way to school. The girls, identified as Samah and Mufeeda Sharabati, received bruises all over their bodies, said the agency – Albawaba.com
