BNP Paribas is pleased to announce the appointment of Philippe Aroyo as Head of Territory for the UAE. This appointment is part of a strategic plan to strengthen the bank’s presence and client franchise in the region and in UAE
Mr. Aroyo has worked at BNP Paribas since 1989 and started his career as a senior economist. More recently he was Head of Territory for Kuwait. Mr. Aroyo has had several important positions throughout his career in Corporate and Investment Banking, especially in BNP Paribas India and Senegal.
Mr. Aroyo’s mandate will be to ensure that BNP Paribas’ client needs are well addressed and that the bank pursues its expansion in the promising UAE market. He will be responsible for accelerating the growth of BNP Paribas’ business with an emphasis on extending client coverage and intensifying links with the UAE business community, with whom the bank has already had strong relationships. His regional experience will be invaluable in boosting BNP Paribas' presence and market share in the country.
Commenting on this important strategic appointment, BNP Paribas GCC Regional Director Jean-Christophe Durand said: “We have a very high regard for Aroyo’s professionalism, and are very confident that he will be successful in building high level relationships in this important market for BNP Paribas. Philippe brings to the table broad-based banking experience as well as a proven track record of success in developing our business in the region.”
Mr. Aroyo’s appointment is being perceived as a major milestone in the development of BNP Paribas’ banking business in the UAE. “Under Philippe’s leadership, we will be able to deploy a new range of competencies essential to meet our clients' requirements which are becoming increasingly global and sophisticated,” Mr. Durand said.
