“Dubai Fashion 2010”, The signature event of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), boasts a fashion and beauty alliance that continues to strengthen with Procter and Gamble (P&G) Beauty brands, Braun Satin Hair with IONTEC and Max Factor, as the official hair and make-up sponsors for the glamorous event.
Styled by Sarkis Finianos, Braun Hairstylist & Harmony salon co-owner, runway models showcased the season’s hottest hair styles varying from short to long hair, natural waves to wide curls, and messy up-dos to ponytails. “Spring and summer are the seasons where a lady shows off her colourful persona. The hairstyles we created were inspired by vacation looks complimenting every woman’s natural beauty,” said Sarkis Finianos. “The beauty about each show was the setting and atmosphere that inspired each model’s “act” on the runway and the hairstyles were designed to mirror this”. Etoile Boutique show was inspired by a luxury cruise setting with a flirtatious edge. Saks Fifth Avenue show was a show from a wild outerspace, while Korloff Paris jewellery was enough to make each model glimmer as she graced the runway.
Ultra ‘feminine’ hairstyles have been making a comeback on the runways over the last few seasons, with a nod towards ‘fresh funky natural’ looks that were evident at Dubai Fashion. Layered haircuts are among the most popular hairstyles for summer. Most women prefer layered cuts because they can be tailored to suit almost any face shape or hair type. Layered cuts also require lower maintenance, giving every woman’s versatility with her hair.
