Reuters reports that four gunmen entered a shopping mall in Baghdad following a car bomb explosion outside.
The Jawaher mall is in the Shia neighborhood of Baghdad Jadida, in the east.
According to Reuters, police and medical sources stated that at least seven people were killed and 27 wounded by the car bomb.
Reuters reports speculation of suicide belts and the possibility of a hostage situation inside the Jawaher mall, but these reports have not been confirmed.
Iraqi media stated that security forces were on site and attempting to enter the mall. Iraqi officials are calling the situation "a terrorist attack." No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing and gunmen.
The situation is ongoing and the status of the gunmen inside the mall is unknown.
