Military sources confirmed that one bomb hit the al-Shaab neighborhood, killing seven people. A separate car bomb exploded in the southern neighborhood al-Rasheed, killing six.

Later the same day, two separate car bombs detonated in northern and western neighborhoods of Baghdad, bringing the death toll close to 100. Dozens more were wounded.
