Reuters reports that a suicide bomber killed two police officers and severly wounded a senior Iraqi police official near Baquba, Iraq.
Brigadier Qasim al-Anbuki, the local head of police intelligence, was running checks on cars after a tip that a car bomber had parked on a highway between Baghdad and Baquba. No information about the bomber has been reported at this time.
This suicide bombing comes the morning after three suicide attacks in Baghdad and Muqdadiya that killed at least 51 people Monday night. Attacks were reported on an outdoor market and Jawaher mall in Baghdad, and a popular cafe in Muqdadiya.
Daesh claimed responsibility for the mall attack. The motive behind the recent string of suicide bombings is unknown.
