ALBAWABA - On Sunday, a bus crashed with a tanker and a motorcycle in southern Afghanistan's Helmand province, killing 21 passengers and injuring 38, a regional official confirmed.
"Early in the morning today, based on the information we have received so far, 21 people were killed and 38 were injured in a traffic accident between a passenger bus, a tanker and a motorbike," provincial governor spokesman Mohammad Qasim Riyaz told AFP.
The accident caused the vehicles to burst into flames as seen by images posted on social media by the Helmand information department of charred, twisted metal and the tanker's smashed cabin.
The collision occurred early Sunday morning on a major highway between Kabul and northern Herat in Helmand's Grishk region.
