ALBAWABA - Palestinian media reported that the first bus carrying Palestinian prisoners released under the peace agreement between Hamas and Israel has arrived in Ramallah.

Al Jazeera's correspondent announced that buses carrying Palestinian prisoners released from Ofer prison arrived in Beitunia in Ramallah.

Earlier today, an AFP journalist said that multiple buses left Israel's Ofer prison in the occupied West Bank on Monday.

The release of Palestinian prisoners comes under a ceasefire agreement following Hamas's release of 20 living Israeli hostages who were taken on October 7, 2023.

The Gaza deal, which was backed by US President Donald Trump, says that Hamas was to release the 47 remaining hostages -- living and dead -- in exchange for 250 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails, in addition to 1,700 Palestinians held in Gaza since the October 2023 war.
