Cabint reshuffle announced in Tunisia

President Zien Abdeen Ben Ali of Tunisia announced a cabint reshuffle Wednesday, in which Prime Minister, Mohammed al-Ghanoshi retained his post.  

 

The Tunisian news agency reported that the post of the foreign minister was given to Abdul Baqi al-Hermasi, succeeding al-Habib Ben Yahya. Al Hadi Mahana, was named as the new Minister of Defense, and Rafiq Belhaj Qassem, as the minister of interior and local development. Some other nominations included: Mr. Zouhair Mdhaffer will serve as minister to the Prime Minister in charge of civil service and administrative development; Mr. Mounir Jaidane - Secretary General of the Government; Mr. Moncef Hergli 

- Secretary of State to the Prime Minister in charge of Privatisation; Mr. Abdelaziz Ben Dhia - Minister of State, special advisor to the President of the Republic and Spokesman for the Presidency.
