Cameras placed at Dubai intersections a week ago have snapped a total of 161 drivers running red traffic lights, Gulf News reported Wednesday.
Col. Mohammed Saif Al Zifeen, deputy director of the general traffic agency of the Dubai Police, was quoted by the paper as saying that "most of the violations were recorded at Sana interchange, which is known for being overcrowded. Qusais interchange came second."
According to the daily, the police recently equipped the emirate's main intersections with 13 radar detectors.
"The detectors have built-in cameras to register vehicles,” Zifeen added – Albawaba.com
