ALBAWABA - At least three people were killed in a suicide bombing that targeted a police station on the Pakistani border with Afghanistan, AFP reported Monday.
Three Pakistani security personnel were killed in a suicide bombing on Monday at a border police headquarters in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistani police announced in a statement.
"Three FC (Federal Constabulary) personnel deployed at the gate were martyred and four others were wounded," said Peshawar police chief Mian Saeed.
He added, one attacker detonated explosives, while the other two were shot dead by the security forces.
The attack took place at 8:10 a.m. local time at the police station, located on Saddar Road, which is one of the city's busiest streets.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the suicide attack in the province bordering Afghanistan, which has witnessed many attacks by extremist groups, violence that has intensified since the Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021.
