According to a report by AFP, a car bomb exploded on a shopping street in Homs on Wednesday, killing seven and injuring 30.
The explosion occurred in a majority Alawite neighborhood, which has recently witnessed numerous attacks.
On January 15th a ten-day truce was reached in Al-Waar, one of the few remaining rebel-held sections of Homs.
The truce was considered a set-back for the opposition, increasing the likelihood that the rebels would surrender the area to government forces.
