At least nine people were wounded in a car bomb attack on a residential complex for members of Turkey’s judiciary in eastern Tunceli province Monday, Turkish security sources said.
According to the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media, a PKK suicide bomber detonated a bomb-laden car inside the housing complex where members of the judiciary, including judges live in the province’s Ovacik district.
Three of the nine injured people were in critical condition, who were immediately airlifted to the Ovacik State Hospital, hospital sources said.
Since July 2015, more than 500 security personnel, including troops, police officers, and village guards, have been killed in clashes with PKK militants across Turkey and northern Iraq.
