Egyptian Mohamed Naguib has been appointed by InterContinental Hotels Group, the world’s most global hotel company, as executive assistant manager of the city-based InterContinental Pyramids Park Resort Cairo.

In the new role, Naguib aims to build on his previous experience and apply, enhance and develop his skills as executive assistant manager. Within his new function Naguib will have a key role in developing and implementing strategic plans, marketing plans, budgets and goals for the 470-room property.

The InterContinental Pyramids Park Resort Cairo, which is regarded as the perfect base for exploring Cairo and its many attractions, is the ideal hotel for leisure and business travellers – located just minutes from the Giza Pyramids. But with new developments, the hotel is also now being positioned as the prime destination for the corporate meetings and incentive markets. For meetings and conference planners, the resort’s eight function rooms are equipped with the latest in presentation and communications technology and can accommodate from 8 to 600 guests in a variety of settings.

“To remain competitive it is necessary to continually upgrade services and that is why we now offer wireless Internet access in all of our public areas, and we plan to renovate Al Shorfa – our main buffet restaurant – and finally, introduce key card access to all rooms,” said Naguib. “I am excited about being promoted to this new role and I look forward to all of the new challenges that I will face in the future.”

Naguib – who has worked at InterContinental Hotels Group properties in Egypt since 1990 and has a Business Administration in Marketing degree from Washington University, and a General Certificate of Education from the University of London – brings to the role a wealth of sales and management knowledge.

Chris Moloney, Chief Operating Officer, InterContinental Hotels Group Middle East and Africa, said: “I am pleased to congratulate Naguib on his appointment to his new role. The entire team at InterContinental Hotels Group is confident that this seasoned professional will achieve the targets and aims that have been set.”
