The year 2004 is being marked by the Moroccan community of France and Belgium for the arrival of the first generation of Moroccan immigrants, according to Moroccan and French press sources. The first wave of immigration occurred in 1964 when Morocco and Belgium signed an accord to recruit workers.
A series of conferences and thematic events, including musicals, theatre, concert, cinema and other celebrations are planned to commemorate the life of immigrants in their new countries.
The organizers say that the emphasis will be placed on looking to the future.
