In a show of growing public dissent, Chinese protesters set fire to factory buildings and police cars on Monday in protest of the growing toxic waste problem in the region.
The protest was the third such display of discontent against authorities in recent weeks regarding the pollution and toxic waste problem in China, according to Reuters.
The incident highlights the environmental price China has paid to become the world's seventh-largest economy.
"Some children died of lead pollution and the demonstration might have been initiated by the parents" one eyewitness said.
