The Chirac couple is spending a holiday in the Royal Moroccan city of Marrakech, where they were invited to dine with the King of the country. Marrakech is 360km to the south west of the capital Rabat, according to the <i>Matinternet</i>.
The King of Morocco has palaces and homes over the country, including an official residence in Marrakech. The meal was largely a family occasion with the King’s wife Princess Lalla Salma and son Hassan, 20 months old and heir designate, participating. Press reports indicate that the President and King enjoy a close relationship stretching back over many years.
