The organization of the 13th Congress of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies in Morocco is a "testimony to the progress achieved by my country in neurosurgery," said, King Mohammed VI to the participants of the Congress, according to MAP.
The monarch expressed "how determined we are to continue supporting Africa, and to help improve public health in African countries," saying that this convention "will have a positive impact on curative medicine and scientific research on cerebrovascular diseases and related nervous system disorders, in Morocco and elsewhere in Africa."
He also hailed the Federation's act to set up a Reference Centre in Morocco for training of African neurosurgeons, ensuring that Morocco "will support all the measures to be adopted by your Congress."
He voiced appreciation of the "the support provided by several friendly nations and international institutions to help complete the construction and equipping of the National Centre for Neurosciences at the Rabat Specialist Hospital," which, he said will be made available for African patients, doctors and researchers" in a bit to reiterate the kingdom's "determination to enhance South-South cooperation and to foster effective North-South partnerships."
