Crowne Plaza Salalah Receives Award of Appreciation

InterContinental Hotels Group, the world’s most global hotel company, announced today that the Crowne Plaza Salalah has been awarded excellence in guest satisfaction by Solresor, the Swedish charter company.

Following the inaugeration by His Excellency Mohammed Al Tobi, Undersecretary of the Minister of Tourism, Crowne Plaza Salalah resort and Hilton resort and heavily promoted by the Ministry of Tourism, 14 charters have since arrived in Salalah from Stockholm, Sweden securing this new tourist route and totalling 2’100 persons hosted at the Crowne Plaza resort to date. Sheikh Salim al Shanfari – Chairman of the Salalah Hotels Company was delighted to see such tremendous performance from Sweden.

Following the weekly surveys conducted by M/s. STS Solresor for all 14 charters, guest satisfaction was recorded at exceeding 95% for the resort and Dhofar region combined. “This remarkable number was achieved due to a combination of quality of product and services provided, a unique offering of nature and historical sites as well as the various activities that exceeded guests expectations.” commented A. Salalah is the second largest town of the Sultanate of Oman and 1,000km from Muscat and faces the expanse of the Indian Ocean. Surrounded by the mountains of Jibal Dhofar – which rise to 1,000m – the area is renowned for its lush greenery, clear, crisp beaches and serenity.

The Crowne Plaza Salalah, which recently underwent massive renovations to upgrade facilities, includes a never-ending beach that offers miles of nature walking and children can enjoy the hotels' very own interactive fountain playground, and a myriad of children’s entertainment. The hotel also appointed a 4-member animation team that conducts various activities during to day as well as evening shows for all guest entertainment for its guest

The new service – which will iclude 30 scheduled flights per season every Wednesday carrying an estimated 2,000 travellers in the first season – has been made possible by a joint agreement between Salalah’s Crowne Plaza and Hilton International, with the support of the Oman Ministry of Tourism.
