D-Link Holds top Position in Global Market of Wireless LAN Stand-AloneAccess Point Shipment and Placed In Magic Quandrant for Wireless LANInfrastruct

D-Link, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumers and business, is now positioned among the industry's vendors of Wireless LAN solutions, according to Gartner, Inc., a leading analyst and research firm. In a separate market share report* by Gartner, D-Link also obtained the lead position in worldwide Wireless LAN stand-alone access point unit shipments for mid- and large-size enterprises in 2009.
D-Link is a large, solid WLAN solution provider that has previously held a strong presence in the small- to medium-size business (SMB) sector. In 2009, D-Link successfully held the top spot in the small enterprise market for WLAN stand-alone access point unit shipments with a 37.2% market share, far surpassing its nearest competitor's 21.2%. The most remarkable result is that D-Link also obtained the top position in medium- and large-size enterprise unit shipments with a 26.1% market share in the same report.
D-Link was placed in Gartner's latest published Magic Quadrant for Wireless LAN Infrastructure**, which was based on the evaluation of two forms of criteria: "completeness of vision" and "ability to execute." D-Link is positioned in the Niche Players quadrant.
"D-Link has not only solidified a strong lead in the shipment of WLAN stand-alone access points, but has also continued to show its strong growth and leadership in the business solution market year over year," said Harrison Albert, Regional Sales Director at D-Link Middle East.
"We are excited about D-Link being included in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Wireless LAN Infrastructure. We believe this is a testament to our continued commitment to delivering a comprehensive, innovative portfolio of wireless LAN solutions as part of our complete end-to-end solutions offering that also includes switching, storage, security and surveillance," Harrison added.
D-Link has been aggressively winning over the business enterprise market, especially this year as IT spending begins to return since last year's economic downturn. To achieve this, D-Link looks to enhance its channel recruiting and training this year to further strengthen its business sales through the company's growing network of value-added resellers, solution providers, distributors and retailers. D-Link also plans to leverage its strength in the switching business, and to look into cross-selling opportunities, such as the integration of IP surveillance to further its footprint in business enterprise market.
