Dallah Hospital in Riyadh has been able to cure 98 percent of its kidney stone patients since introducing new equipment that uses electro-magnetic waves to crush the stones, according to the head of the hospital's surgery ward.
Recently the hospital celebrated its 1,000th successful procedure.
This new generation of equipment is 30 percent better than the previous and the treatment requires patients to come to the hospital in the morning and to leave at night.
Attending the celebration was the general manager of Siemens, the German-based company that delivered the equipment, as well as German embassy officials.
