Damascus Radio has strongly denounced the attempts of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to destroy the security and stability of the entire region, by “feeding the U.S. enmity to Iraq”, and by “planning for the expansion of the war to reach other countries, including Iran”.
In its daily political commentary, the state-run radio warned against Premier Sharon’s exploitation of the September 11 attacks and the “US inadequate understanding of the peoples’ causes to make Washington involved in policies”, which do not serve its interests, and those of international peace and security, the Syrian Arab news agency said.
The radio further stressed that Washington stood alone with Israel in the war against Iraq, amidst mounting popular and political opposition in Britain and in the European Union (EU). (Albawaba.com)
