According to BNA, two Danish soldiers based in southern Iraq were slightly injured when a roadside bomb exploded near their patrol vehicle Thursday, the Danish defence forces said today.
The attack took place late Thursday in a suburb of Basra. The two soldiers were taken to a British military hospital for treatment and were in good condition, the army operational command said. Insurgents often use roadside bombs in southern Iraq, according to the Danish military. The bombs, often grenades, are set off when a patrol vehicle passes by. Denmark has some 500 troops based in southern Iraq.
