Dubai Customs World (DC World), a global customs solutions provider, on Wednesday (July 4) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bureau Veritas, global leader in industrial and process quality certification and testing services, to jointly pursue new business opportunities at the global level.
DC World, a subsidiary of Dubai World, has established state-of-the-art electronic customs clearance systems and training schemes in Africa and the Middle East, and is poised for a major global expansion.
France-based Bureau Veritas provides a comprehensive suite of quality assurance services, ranging from conformity assessment to corporate compliance solutions in eight Fields of Expertise, including Customs management. It has over 26,000 employees operating out of 600 offices in 140 countries. It has offices in Dubai since 1986 with over 165 employees.
The MoU opens the doors to leveraging these strengths in a combined and forceful manner at the international level and creating a mutually profitable business model.
Under its terms, DC World and Bureau Veritas will jointly identify new products, markets and business opportunities, and provide value-added services for the large customer base throughout the world.
The MoU, which will remain in force for three years, was signed at the Dubai World Chairman’s office at the Emirates Towers, by Hamad Fadhel Al Mazrooei, CEO, DC World, and Andrew Philip Yell, Vice President, Contracts, Bureau Veritas.

Other Bureau Veritas officials who attended the event included Gaby Rached, Chief Executive for Dubai, Pierre Harris, Vice President, Sales, and Jaime Barton, Regional Manager, Government Services & International Trade.
