Decrease in Cases at Hibab Police Station Hailed

Brigadier-General Sharafuddin Al Sayed Mohammed Hussein, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, hailed the drop in the number of cases registered at the Hibab police station in the year 2001. He was making an annual inspection of the station. 

 

Last year, the station registered 346 traffic accidents in which three people died and 34 others were injured, Gulf News reported. The previous year there were 369 accidents in which five people died and 44 were injured. 

 

Since the beginning of the current year, the station has registered 69 traffic accidents in which 16 people sustained minor or moderate injuries. 

 

Traffic offences also registered a decrease from 1,078 in 2000, to 815 last year.  

 

Criminal cases fell from 27 in 2000, to 17 in 2001. Cases of theft decreased from 13 in 2000, to five in 2001.
