DOHALAND has announced its support of the Doha Green and Sustainability Summit (DGSS) by becoming one of the event’s lead sponsors. The summit, which is taking place on April 11th 2010 at the Grand Hyatt Doha, will be a platform for companies, communities and individuals to learn, engage, exchange and partner to find solutions for a better planet, starting in the State of Qatar.
The memorandum was signed by Imad Nached, Marketing Director of DOHALAND and Ravi Raman, DGSS Working Committee Member. As an urban developer in Qatar, DOHALAND agreed to sponsor the one-day summit because it mirrors the organisations own values towards environment, sustainability and green economics.
Placing Qatar in the context of the larger global community, DGSS will bring together local, regional as well as international speakers to discuss issues of sustainability and green economics concerning the global environment. The DGSS is the first ever sustainability and environmental seminar to be held in Qatar and aims to attract key stakeholders in Qatar’s future.
“This summit is a great step towards raising awareness on the importance of green architecture and development which is a main focus for DOHALAND,” said Imad Nached, Marketing Director of DOHALAND. “By sponsoring this event, we hope to engage Qatar’s future decision makers to help create an environment that will enhance and contribute to the country’s social dynamism whilst maintaining its cultural heritage and quality of life.”
As a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation (QF), DOHALAND works on creating urban living concepts fusing modern techniques with traditional Qatari architecture and design. Through its association with QF, its property development is meant to supports the foundation’s ideals to fulfil human potential in Qatar.
