Two bomb blasts killed four people and injured 17 others in the city of Homs, located in central Syria, reports AFP.
Governor Talal Barazi stated that motorbikes rigged with explosives were detonated in the Alawite neighborhoods of Wadi Dahab and Al-Zahra. Both cities had been previously targeted by attackers.
"The attacks are intended to disrupt security and stability in Homs," Barazi told AFP, accusing the perpetrators of wanting "to target the city at all costs."
Over 220,000 people have been killed in Syria since the start of the conflict in March 2011.
