ALBAWABA- Dozens of Israeli officers and soldiers have been killed or wounded in intense clashes with Hezbollah fighters along the Lebanon-Israel border, according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
The IDF admitted that eight Israeli officers and soldiers were killed and seven others injured, two of them seriously, during battles in southern Lebanon. Among the dead were three majors and two captains.
Footage circulating online shows helicopters evacuating the Israeli casualties from the battlefield.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for targeting a gathering of Israeli forces between Adaisseh and Maskafam with a guided missile, resulting in both deaths and injuries.
In response, Israeli forces launched heavy strikes across the Lebanese border, reportedly killing and injuring dozens, including seven members of a health team.
Additionally, last night, Israeli commandos attempted an incursion half a kilometer into Lebanese territory but were ambushed by Hezbollah fighters, forcing them to retreat after suffering significant losses.
