Bahrain British Business Forum (BBBF) and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) will hold their inaugural co-organised event on Tuesday, July 6th at the BCCI (Bait Al-Tijjar). Dr. Essam Fakhro, Chairman of the BCCI, will deliver an address as the keynote speaker of the formal lunch event.

Dr. Fakhro welcomed the opportunity which focuses on enhancing awareness regarding the investment environment in Bahrain and the role the BCCI plays in promoting business. He further added that the BCCI is delighted with its cooperation with the BBBF and all other initiatives aimed at advancing economic ties between Bahrain and the UK, noting that such efforts are a critical step in creating an ideal environment and opening new channels for investment and business relations between the two nations.

In his address, Dr. Fakhro will share his views on the economic outlook in Bahrain and the GCC, and how the BCCI is contributing to business success and sustainability. "Accessing international markets is one of the key drivers of the economic growth engine, and our collaboration with the BBBF will play an important role helping us achieve that access for the benefit of Bahrain-based businesses."

He will also detail the BCCI's role in supporting the private sector in Bahrain which acts as the "engine of economic development", and identify specific areas that will benefit from closer ties between the business communities of the two countries.

"We are honoured to have Dr Fakhro and his team at the first of many planned shared events between our two organizations," said Mr Khalid Zayani, Chairman of BBBF. "Our partnership aims to facilitate networking between companies based in Bahrain and assist companies coming from the UK to gain a better understanding of how they can benefit from the strong ties between our two business communities."

The BBBF and BCCI had signed a memorandum of understanding in May of this year to improve cooperation and mutual interest between the two business groups in attracting investments and strengthening the relationships between the flourishing private sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom. As part of these efforts, the two organizations will co-oragnise seminars and conferences, as well as arranging trade delegations to the UK and welcoming British business missions to Bahrain.

Tickets for the lunch are BD12 for BBBF members and BD15 for non-members. All those interested in attending can call the BBBF Office on 17813488 to make their reservation.
